"All About Long Beach Middle School "

As you walk through the halls of Long Beach Middle School you can tell lots of learning is taking place in the wonderful classrooms. Our school has tons of extra-curricular activities such as Character Council , Student Council , Beta Club , Robotics Team, Choir, and Band. We also have sports teams like football , baseball , and basketball. Our drama team performs wonderful school plays.

School starts at 8:00 in the morning and ends at 3:20 in the afternoon. We have 711 kids in our school. Each kid has 7 classes they must go to. 6 th graders have 2 elective classes such as P.E., Choir, Band, and Rotation. Rotation is an elective that switches you every 9 weeks from Art, Cultural Art, Drama, and Expressive Writing. We have an intellectually gifted class for 6 th graders called Excel.

7 th and 8 th graders have only 1 elective. They are required to take Career Discovery, which is a class that exposes students to the various career opportunities, and Computer Discovery, which teaches computer skills. Regular classes include English, Science, Math, Reading , and Social Studies.
