History
"In 1968, Betina Elizondo, Alma Melo and Betty Wagner founded one of the most successful educational institutions in the country:
The American Institute of Monterrey."

The American Institute is 39 years old. It started in a house in downtown Monterrey and now it has two campuses. One in San Pedro that has from maternal to 3rd grade. In Santa Catarina we have from 4th to 9th grade.
Mission:
To provide a well-rounded bilingual education that focuses on students as unique individuals in the development of their mind, spirit and body, developing in them the will to live universal ethical values on a daily basis, showing this in their decisions and actions.
To instill in our students a love of learning, preparing them to succeed in life and use their talents for preserving and improving their world.
"In 2001, the AIM became the first educational institution in Latin America to be accredited simultaneously by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) in the US, and by the Council of International Schools (CIS) in Europe. Both organizations evaluate educational institutions by considering the fulfillment of their mission, philosophy and objectives.
The AIM has the privilege of being an UNESCO associate school, reason for which today we form part of an educational program for sustainable development and exercise of universal values, through which the students apply their technological knowledge interacting with students from other countries that share their same goal: become better citizens of the world.
The AIM is also member of the Association of American Schools in Mexico (ASOMEX), the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) the Tri-Association (which groups American Schools of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and Colombia); and of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
In Mexico we are accredited by the Ministry of Education (SEP)."

By the year 2010 we look forward to having a new school building where we will all be together.
