Mercury was the equivalent of the Greek god Hermes except he was a Roman god. Mercury is a popular person in Roman Mythology and in many myths he delivered things such as dreams. He is very important because he is the son of Jupiter, the head god. Mercury wears winged sandals and a winged cap because he is the messenger god. Mercury is also famous for being an inventor god. He invented things such as the lyre, a great musical instrument. Mercury was a great and important Roman god.
