Save The Water!

By Melissa B. - DPS

Narrator: Once there were 3 children, Sara, Steven and Joey. This is a story about one of their adventures.

(The setting is a school playground. 3 children, Sara, Steven and Joey are talking outside.)

Sara: I want to go to the beach on Saturday.
Steven: That’s tomorrow.
Sara: Well, then tomorrow. I want to go to the beach tomorrow. I’ll probably stay up late, then sleep in till 11:00, then go to the beach in the afternoon. You guys want to come?
Joey: Sure!
Steven: Okay.(school bell rings)
Steven: Aw! Recess is over!
Joey: Noooo!
Sara: You don’t have to think about the math test. Just think about tomorrow.
Steven(sad): Time to go in.....(they exit)

(End of scene)

(The scene is a beach with zebra muscles and dead fish everywhere. There are Tim Horton’s cups and garbage in the water. The sky is dark and no one is at the beach....except Sara, Steven and Joey.)

Joey: I guess this was a bad idea to go to the beach.
Sara: (looking out into the water) It looks terrible. I wish we could do something to save the water so that it doesn’t look so polluted.
Steven: Yeah, me too. How can people do this to the water and the earth? I really want to help the water.
Narrator: But you can do something!
(all of them get trapped in a water droplet)
Joey: Huh?
Steven: Why are we in a water droplet?
Sara: Maybe...it’s the start of a new adventure!
Narrator: That’s right. You wanted to help the water so you will soon be leaving to find a way to save the water and stop this polluting!
(The children vanish!)

(A boy is looking up at Niagara Falls. He seems to be writing in a notebook.)

Steven:(Still in the water droplet): Where are we?
Joey: it looks like Niagara Falls. I’ve been here 3 times!(bragging)
Steven: Oh yeah? Well I’ve been here 5 times!
Sara: Stop fighting.....I’ve been here 6 times so I beat both of you!
Narrator: Anyway....
Sara: Oh yeah....
