Let's meet the famous Gilbert Arenas! He is an outstanding player who rocks the world of basketball. He is model for us all including us, deaf people. Here is an example of someone who started out as an average player and became famous. He reached his goal to make it on the NBA team. Here is a description of his life, his accomplishments and his contributions to the community.
Gilbert Arenas was born in Miami, Florida. He is African American and Cuban. People called him by a nickname which is Agent Zero.
Arenas was raised by a single father in Florida and California after his mother, a drug addict, abandoned them. His paternal great-grandfather is from Cuba. He has one daughter born Dec 12, 2005. he recently had a new baby son born in March.

Arenas is a great slasher and leaper. When he went to Los Angeles, California for high school, he became one of the top players. He got the highest points during the golden state high school games. When he played with his basketball team, professional agents picked him because he was outstanding. He went to Arizona University. He join warriors team Warriors for NBA(2001-2003). Now he involve to Washington Wizards team (2005-present). First time All-star basketball 2006 he join to eastern team. So soon he joined to All-star basketball 2007, he join same team February 18, 2007.

Arenas donates $100 for every point he scores in each home game this season (2006-2007) to local D.C. area schools. Gives his jersey away to fans, both at home and on the road, after each game…Became a big brother to Andre McAllister,A boy lost his family in a fire at age 10. Gilbert Arenas takes him shopping, bowling, got him a job as a ball boy for the Wizards, and acts as brotherly.
For the past three years, has hosted “Gilbert’s Christmas Dream” during the holiday season to benefit underprivileged DC area children…
Has created the Zer0 2 Hero Foundation to promote the safety and well-being of children by raising funds to support organizations that aid in the preservation of families through foster care, adoption and child welfare services.
People love him because he is an exceptional player in basketball. We look up to him. He is our model of someone who strives for success. We hope someday to become like him, the top player on the Wizards team. He teaches us to be disciplined, trained, motivated,committed and hopeful.
