Lev Landau. Personality.

I wanted to tell about a great scientist and first of all about a very interesting man - Lev Davidovich Landau.

Many people wrote stories and even books about him, and they all told that it was a Personality with a capital letter "P". It is difficult to imaging a young man of 22 years old surrounded by well-known people, but he was always in the middle of all events.

Lev Landau could tell people in their faces what he thought about them, but he never was unjust. His words were cruel for some people, but telling the truth, he helped them to realize who they were in their lives.

This interesting man had many students, they all wanted to talk to him at least a minute, because Dau, they called him so, could speak about everything, he new much about politics, he loved theatre and cinema, he was good at history and culture, and, of course, he new everything in science.

Dau was a man of his word, it was impossible for him to tell something and then not to do, to leave the word without an action, not to be at exact time. He was responsible in all branches of life, and he teached his students in the same way.
 

Lev Landau - a well-known figure

How interesting our life is! In my oppinion, to live means to meet people, to take their best features, to learn something good, to give positive emotions. I wish I could meet Lev Davidovich Landau at least for one day of my life as he was a great person able to be an example!

What are his best qualities as a man? First of all, he never told unnecessary words, it is rare in our life! We often tell people different things and forget about them, but people hope the words to come true. Lev Landau was absolutely different, his words were correct and exact, he didn´t speak long, but could say much in several sentences.

The second thing is his love to people. Dau - it is his nickname, loved people, especially beautiful, he tried to do their life easier, gave much attention, his own scientific ideas, and money. Dau loved to present money to good people, he enjoyed seeing them happy. The other side of his love to people was his truth. He never lied, he expressed his thoughts directly, didn´t try to find mild words. In his oppinion, people had to know the worst things, because good things are known without telling them.

The third idea tells about his will to know everything. Lev Landau new more then many well-know sientists new together. He always told that our life is too short, and nature keeps it´s secrets well, so we need to know much to be in time in different places. He wanted the education in oue country to be the best, for his students wanted to be like Dau.

My fourth thought is connected with love. People say that it is impossible to live without love. Dau said that he was as it is in Russian "krasivist" - it means that he loved beautiful women. But all his life he had only one wife, and he loved her very much. We read some letters he wrote to Kora, his wife. They were so wonderful, the words full of love and tenderness, you fill worm and comfortable while reading these short messages.
So, these are the reasons for me to meet such a great person. I would like to become at least a little bit like him, as it is important for me feel needed in this world, to feel that I´m responsible for things I do and say.
