In September
2006, Secondary School #14 from Kayrakkum,
Sogd region, 735750 Tajikistan, Waterford
Mott High School from Waterford, MI, USA and
Turkmen Secondary School N50, Ashgabat,
Turkmenistan were assigned to
GVC06-14. Secondary School #14 and
Mott began discussing possible topics and
eventually came up with the theme based on
the challenges facing Generation Y.
After much discussion the title for the
project became Posterus Vicus which is Latin
for Future Times. We began forming our
subtopic groups and planning our project
with little input from our third partner.
Turkmenistan eventually dropped out of the
project and Kuwait English School took their
spot in late November. Our team number
changed to GVC06-22.
About the
same time, Secondary School #14 stopped
communicating. Their internet access
was limited to certain hours during the
school day. They began having
connection problems and also stopped
participating in the project.
Kuwait
English School planned to work on the
project full tilt after the holidays and
their exams were completed. For
unknown reasons, that never happened.
Mott students used their limited resources
to put together a website. Although
not up to our usual standards, it is
finished.
