The internet can be a form of many types of entertainment. In our generation a
major advancement has been communication through the internet. Through the
internet there has come about instant messaging (IM), e-mail, Skype, forums and
many others. These types of communication are used through both work and
entertainment purposes.
Instant messaging or IM is a form of real-time communication between two or
more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via computers connected
over a network such as the Internet. The Skype communications system is notable
for its broad range of features, including free voice and video conferencing.
E-mail is a store and forward method of composing, sending, storing, and
receiving messages over electronic communication systems. Forums are where you
post text for other people who view the forums. There are many others but these
are some of the main forms of internet communication.
These types of communication are very important because they were the first
forms of communication that are normally free and can connect us instantly to
anyone else in the world, with the internet. In work these communications can be
used to talk to partners or other branches of a business, like how we use it to
communicate to the other teams in the GVC project. In entertainment it is used
for just talking to friends, online dating services and many others. All of
these reasons make Internet communication a very important advancement in our
generation. |
