What medical issues will face Generation Y as they age? The prospects for improving human health around the world have rarely been so bright.  Our generation will continue to try and make medicine safe, affordable and accessible for people all over the world.

In the United States, Gen Y will be faced with the continuing high cost of health care.  Maybe they will learn from the successes of national programs in other countries. 

Obesity is becoming more of a problem in the U.S. and around the world. More and more young people are gaining weight at an alarming rate.  School districts are being forced to take measures to reduce the amount of junk food available in schools and to provide healthier food choices.  As a result of their less active life styles, young adults are also gaining more weight.

Scientists everywhere will continue to search for a cure for different types of cancers and for ways to prevent killers such as heart disease and stroke.

The number one cause of death in developing countries is AIDS.  We will have to continue to find a cure for the disease and to educate people on ways to prevent the spread of the disease.
