What medical issues will face Generation Y
as they age? The prospects for improving
human health around the world have rarely
been so bright. Our generation will
continue to try and make medicine safe,
affordable and accessible for people all
over the world. In the United States, Gen
Y will be faced with the continuing high
cost of health care. Maybe they will
learn from the successes of national programs
in other countries.
Obesity is becoming more of a problem in
the U.S. and around the world. More and more
young people are gaining weight at an
alarming rate. School districts are
being forced to take measures to reduce the
amount of junk food available in schools and
to provide healthier food choices. As
a result of their less active life styles,
young adults are also gaining more weight.
Scientists everywhere will continue to
search for a cure for different types of
cancers and for ways to prevent killers such
as heart disease and stroke. The number
one cause of death in developing countries
is AIDS. We will have to continue to
find a cure for the disease and to educate
people on ways to prevent the spread of the
disease. |
